The Return of the Jabberwock

I was having a fun day this weekend wandering around London, searching for a fancy dress costume, and after checking out what Forbidden Planet had to offer, decided to look at the comics and books, and look what I found:

A really nice surprise to stumble on the book I illustrated for Top That Publishing through my agents; Advocate Art. This was a super fun job to work on, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Here are a few Interiors, and also an alternate cover that we worked on in the process of making the book.

Replacement doodles (Digital)

And some digital stuff....

Replacement doodles (traditional)

After my grand deletion I thought I'd throw up some old/new stuff so this blog doesn't look too bare.

Woops

Looks like in trying to be clever and delete some stuff off my tablet I have deleted ALL of my blogger images-lame. Can't decide whether to try re-upload at least the last few pages, or whether I just take it as a sign and have a nice fresh start. Damn you google for making the storage of images counter intuitive (sounds like a bunch of people have had this issue).

Urgh

Well, I guess seeing as there's now pretty much nothing here I should post something new.

The lovely folks at Imagine FX asked me to do an article for a special edition they were doing on digital sketching from life...did this on the trusty Samsung Note 10.1 and was pretty happy with the results...it's a bronze statue that is in the V&A in London. You can pick up a copy now, check it out:

Tim Minchin Tshirt

I did the design for Tim Minchin's new tour shirt recently, it's now up in his shop here. I was given a list of stuff (part of some joke shenanigans no doubt) and had to do an illustration for each, it was a really fun job...still waiting for me invite to the tour :P.

Life drawing

Life drawing every week is a good way to wrap the old head around muscles and poses and this is an attempt to practice the anatomical stuff I'm slowly picking up, as well as explore a colouring technique I was discussing with some of the guys I go with.
